    • FPS DROP FIX on PC: We've introduced dynamic VRAM management to mitigate instances of memory buildup caused by changes in how memory is allocated in UE5.2 vs 5.5. This build up would lead to major FPS degradation that took a significant amount of time to recover. Our temporary system adapts internal rendering settings to improve stability and prevent the FPS drop. Cards with 8GB VRAM are operating close to the memory limit, and therefore will often have the new system turned on. When the low-VRAM circumstance is detected, this will result in a performance loss of about 15%, however this should prevent the ~90% FPS drop. This is a temporary workaround while we work on fundamentally resolving this issue, either by restoring the 5.2 behaviour or working with Epic to fix the underlying bug with the transient VRAM allocator.
    • Speculative Foliage Fix on PC: Harvested foliage would reappear on the client upon login or leaving caves, but not be harvestable. We'll be looking to incorporate the fix on consoles in the coming days if there are no additional side effects.

TL;DR: Install The Center first and then install Ragnarok.

Anyone that might be having trouble installing, its likely you still need to have The Center installed in order to install Ragnarok as a map. Thats how it works in ASE so i wouldn't be surprised if The Center and Ragnarok were still tethered like that. If that doesn't work, game is extremely unstable right now so its best to wait a bit longer for them to stabilize the game again. Assuming if they even can.

I will take time to give my feedback on ASA until now.

The game is amazing although it's still in early access. Bugs, crashes, save lost, etc are expected for an early access game even if people tends to forget it.

Adding early content into a game in early access is fine. I just hope one day we will get early news about what content is coming 😃

I understand you need money considering how huge the game is (gameplay, content and servers). Having paid content like DLCs or premium mods is fine. But keep it simple.

    Currently, we have :

    • Lost Colony DLC, not available for purchase (Steam)
    • Lost Colony Expansion Pass, available and contains the Fantastic Tames Drakeling DLC and the Lost Colony DLC
    • Fantastic Tames Drakeling DLC, not available for purchase (Steam)

So you sell Lost Colony DLC and Fantastic Tames Drakeling DLC into the expansion pass but the individual DLCs aren't available for purchase. That's very confusing!

ASA can't convince people to leave ASE because it's less accessible than ASE. ASA needs a better computer, is more expensive and has more constraints when playing (like DLC/premium creatures not tameable in game for players who didn't bought) compared to ASE. If you make buying the game a tedious task as well, you will further limit the access to the game.

Personally, I think ASE was and is very cheap considering that's a great game developed for 7 years and with servers.

ASA is still cheap for what it will be.

Until now, premium mods, paid maps and paid creatures is fine for me. If you want to make money from incoming stuff, just make Season Pass:

    • Fantastic Tames Season Pass with all current and incoming Fantastic Tames.
    • Map Season Pass with Astraeos, Lost Colony and others to come.
    • Ark 2 Season Pass with Ark 2 DLC(s). An idea to include Ark 2 as ASA DLC(s) instead of new game. ASA is a sandbox game so I prefer extends it instead of replacing it. Also, I don't want ASA finishing with unfixed bugs like ASE because there is a new game that replaces it.
    • Premium mods Tools Season Pass that includes mods for QoL features (no map nor creature) from mods added into the game and apart from maps or creatures DLCs. No pay to win in it! Unwanted mods can be disabled at least via ini.config.

These season pass can also promote the content to come, like Bob Tall Tales did, and make people understand the cost of the game.

As a side note, I'm not against pay to win content. PvP is generally rough so pay to win or not, it will never be fair (alpha tribe cough…).

To finish, it won't be fun if I don't talk about delays. How about giving a time span instead of a date ? The delays are now lower than 2 days so giving a release time span of 2 days seems good.

Make ASA the greatest sandbox game ever (not ASE nor Ark 2).

Wait, Ragnarok has a new boss arena? It no longer uses the famous Dragon and Manticore fight? Well, then - does that mean that Valguero is also gonna get a new boss to replace its 3-boss fight? If so, it better be something like a giant Reaper Queen!

Okay; so let's ignore the fact that Rag was released 2 days later than WC said it would be: again. Because, at this point it would actually be silly and disappointing if they did hit a stated release date. It's more of an amusing personal quirk for this development studio than anything; which can be thought of fondly if you choose to do so.

What my interest and question is; is where is the massive top-down complete above and beyond a simple re-release or remaster map design and experience that you talked about a few CCs ago?

Ragnarok has been and still is my absolute favorite map in Ark for many reasons. As such I am quite familiar with the map. So did you, WC, just make the decision not to show any of these wildly massive terrain redesign changes in the trailer? Or, as I expected, are there none? Because aside from an increased amount of foliage, which is for some reason standard in all the ASA maps even on Scorched Earth which to me makes absolutely no sense, and a few very minor tweaks; all I saw was the exact same map design and terrain as in ASE but with different lighting.

Now, don't mistake me for being upset about no new terrain redesign. I was actually extremely concerned about this when they stated it, as I liked Ragnarok exactly the way it was.

What my issue is; is when a company makes a wildly extensive statement like: "A complete top-to-bottom redesign, Ragnarok Ascended goes beyond a return or a remaster: it's a full-scale revival" and then releases a product which is absolutely no such thing. Things like this from companies cause me to avoid them, because all I see is them claiming a solid cast-iron product with expensive high quality textured paint, and then delivering a cheap plastic product covered in glossy lead-based paint that will crack the moment I touch it. I can not trust, believe, or get hyped up about anything a company like this says.

WC; you do not need to make these ridiculously over-the-top statements in order to sell your product. Rag is one of the most beloved maps: it sells itself. All you need to say is that it is remastered in ASA with better lighting and denser foliage. That's it. Don't go spouting lies for absolutely no reason. Any of us who have been watching you since the launch of ASA know that you did do a fairly massive redesign of The Island map: which a majority of the fans either hated or at the least disliked because it messed up what they already knew and loved about the terrain of the original map: and since then either because of this backlash, or because of a lack of time and resources and you guys just being your general lazy selfs that we have known now for years, Scorched Earth's "complete redesign" was in comparison very scaled back; with the following maps being almost nonexistent.

You do not need to say to us that these maps are "top-to-bottom redesigned" in order to sell us on these maps. In-fact, I'd think statements like that would only cause worry and concern in your game's playing community. The reality is that everyone who is going to buy ASA already has; and hyping them up will not typically cause them to buy it again because they already have it. So, making these ludicrous statements is an utter waste of time on your part because it won't get you any more sales and for those who already own the game they do not need to be strung along as they will be happy for the remastered maps regardless.

The Vault is the best idea you guys have come up with so far. It has the potential to make PVP servers work. But making the Vault breakable is pointless.

Having a safe, unhackable location for a solo player means being able to thrive to the point where you can kill bosses, stock up on items, and maintain a Tek Generator.

I've been playing Ark for over 10 years and I can say with certainty that official PVP servers are impossible in the long run for SOLO players.

The Bunker has the potential to solve that.

I understand that more work needs to be done to ensure the right balance for an unhackable vault, but doing this will definitely bring PVE players back to PVP, which is where the real fun is.

Being able to fight on the surface, defeat bosses, and not worry about losing all your progress is what would make PVP truly interesting.

    Please. Thinking about this!

Hello, I purchased the ARK: Lost Colony Expansion Pass DLC on Steam, which states it supports Simplified Chinese, but there is actually no Simplified Chinese content. If you are unwilling to create translation content, could it be changed to support localization? Chinese players have our own translation community to create Chinese patches and maintain our passion for this game.
