  • Introducing the Moschops!

A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone’s favourite fleeing foodie, the Moschops!

    large.Dossier_Moschops.jpg

    Common Name: Moschops
    Species: Moschops cibumutante
    Time: Mid Permian
    Diet: Omnivore
    Temperament: Cowardly

    Wild:

Moschops cibumutante in the wild is a lethargic, cowardly creature that primarily lives in the forests of the island, primarily making its home among the great redwoods of the West. It survives by being extremely flexible in its eating habits and completely averse to fighting. It never starves, since it can eat just about anything. Moschops runs at the slightest provocation, but is still often preyed upon.

    Domesticated:

What makes Moschops particularly interesting is what it can be trained to do with its eating habits. With a versatile palate and tough teeth, Moschops can be tamed for a unique ability: over time it can be taught exactly which things to gnaw, increasing the likelihood of harvesting that exact resource which its master desires. For example, teach it to prioritize chewing Prime Meat, and Prime Meat will be easier to harvest from the flesh it consumes. Likewise for rare plants materials, and so forth!

Just don't expect Moschops to protect, though. Even after taming, it will quickly flee when enemies are nearby. Regardless of being fed well, increasing its strength, or how much affection you shower on it--Moschops retains its inherent cowardly nature!

As for the Moschops, it looks awesome. Nice to finally see a Synapsid!

So say I'm looking to tame an Archaeopteryx, creatures known for only eating Rare Insect Matter... Teach Moschops to harvest the bugs and then tame parachute birds for days...

Oh the memories of shooting these for no reason on Carnivores for PC. Can't wait to actually tame some of these buggers!

This one looks so very interesting.  I can't wait to see it in person!

Ohhh... the redwood forest is in the west.  Of  course!  Where else would it be.  That makes perfect sense to me! :Torpor:

Yeah I know that, it's just nice to see another one added on the island. (:

We've all been wanting to see more Synapsids like Gorgonops!

We had a lystrosaurus dossier a long time ago aswell as gorgonopsid confirmed by the devs a long time ago but that may never happen.

As I said before, I know this. I'm just happy that we're finally seeing another Synapsid.

I definitely see Gorgonopsid coming in, it is a major fan want next to Entelodont and Anomalocaris. I doubt they'd leave it out, not to mention it'd be perfect in the new Desert Biome.

It is real surprise - the second permian creature in ARK. Maybe grogonopsid will be the third?

I would like to see an adjustment to distance from foundation build limit. The structural integrity of thatch makes sense at 2, but wood should be further, and stone further yet. You could increase each level of structure type by 1. IE...thatch=2, wood=3, stone=4, metal=5. I'm just saying that it would make a lot of sense.

There's a pinned topic called "digest submissions"  at the top of Hebert discussions. ;)

It seems that this is a trial run for the highly requested flee mechanic.

The dossier states "the Redwoods of the west"

The western part of the island is underneath the snow biome.
