    Here is our question and answer session with Lead Designer, Lead Programmer, Co-Creative Director of ARK: Survival Evolved, and Co-Founder of Studio Wildcard: Jeremy "Drake" Stieglitz!

    Survivor, Adamsmasher asks, “Will the current tracking system get an update allowing more options or is there a more advanced version coming in the tek tier? Maybe an option to toggle personal or tribe dinos? This would help tremendously when seeking out a lost dino among a map full of tagged tribe dinos.”

    I’ll certainly add some more filter capabilities to it, to filter by the Dinos listed by personal/tribe.

    Survivor, Lowly asks, “With the addition of large dino doors (for flyer hangers ) can we have an option to separate the ride (mount/dismount) button from use (open/close doors)button both on xbox and on PC, the last thing we want to do is be wasting parachutes or falling to our deaths while trying to close a flyer hanger.”

    Indeed, I’ll make the game have an option for a separate the Use-key when riding on a Dinosaur.

    Survivor, royal1rish suggests “One suggestion. I would like to see the ability to name auto turrets. Example would be Bob lvl 1 was killed by Main base turret 5 showing up in the tribe log.”

    Sure thing, we’ll add that.

    Survivor, EarlessPrince98 asks, “will you ever consider genetic manipulation for the tech tree such as letting me use DNA from Titanoboa with raptor eggs  to make  some venom infused guard lizards?  infusing traits of various species would add a lot to breeding.”

    The Tek Tier will let you experiment with DNA recombination via the Cloning Chamber. It won’t be quite as advanced as you describe, but a mod could make that possible!

    Survivor, Davamon asks, “Are you looking to increase the Tribe dino limit on Xbox? Or at least make it a server option? We run a private dedicated server for 5 or 6 friends and you hit the cap pretty quick with a functional egg farm. I understand there are performance limitations to consider, but being able to remove the limit when you know you only have a very low population would be great.”

    Sure, I’ll go ahead and expose that as a server option for Xbox hosts.

    Survivor, Davamon also asks, “Will you be able to use items such as the map/gps while mounted on a water dino in the future? Having to dismount to check your position every 30s is pretty deadly in the depths of the ocean, and while using a Sarco is an option, it doesn't have the speed of an Ichy or Plesio. It doesn't make sense that you can do it on one mount and not another.”

    Survivor, TR-8R asks, “Question about creature that can climb tree or climb vertically like Thylacoleo or Megalania , how can they climb to Tree platform , and can they climb man-made wall too?”

    They can climb man-made walls as well. If you want them to get onto your tree platform, you can create a catwalk under the platform they can drop onto :)

    Survivor, TR-8R also asks, “Each fish have its own bait ? Or the bait only affect the size of the fish you can catch?”

    Type of Bait affects the size of the fish you’re likely to catch, the time it likely takes to get a catch relative to the size of the fish, along with the quality of items you might get from the fish after it’s been caught.

    Survivor, Lowly asks, “Can we have the Addition of stone structure blueprints to beacons on primitive servers that do not have access to metal structures?”

    Yeah, I’ll add support for globally adding items sets to Loot Crates which will make this easy to do, and we’ll set it up accordingly with the stone structures on our primitive server configurations.

    Survivor, cfrostyscriv asks, “Can we get an option for dinos to 'ignore whistles' (would like to whistle all to get all attack dinos but have egg farm ignore that whistle).”

    Survivor, Kaiju_Lord asks, “Will we be able to tame and "alpha" allosaurus when it gets added to the game? Will the alpha allosaurus be introduced with the regular allosaurus?”

    The Alpha Allosaurus is actually just the strongest Allosaurus in an allied pack (with a corresponding buff), not an actual descriptor for the “mega stat” wild variant of some creature. To avoid confusion, the strongest Allosaurus in a group is now called the “Pack Leader”.

    Survivor, MrBlackMagik asks, “It was mentioned that the Xbox version would be getting achievements in the next update. Will this be all of the achievements or just the first batch? Can you share any? PLEASE?!?!”

    Survivor, JaxD asks, “When am I going to be able to give my Mesopithecus a simple pistol and have it shoot my friends?”

    When someone makes a mod for that -- actually Dinos will be able to support arbitrary gear pretty soon, so it will be possible ;)

    Survivor, Picolo XL asks, “Can we have PIN-codes on ORP structures disabled and can we have Structures in caves no longer get ORP on #OfflineRaidProtection Servers?”

    Speaking of Alpha's why isn't it possible for our dinos to become alphas let's say I've got a pack of 10 raptors with both a high level male an female become Alpha's after all why have wild dinos do it if tamed can't an it would be nice to know that when you.

    Look at your pack you can see your most beloved an trusty sidekick by its glow or another unique trait be it scars from the fights its survived to a buff of your choice that it gives to the pack.

    Kinda how the lysto gives an xp boost within a certain radius of itself.

    Where do I ask questions to have a shot to be featured on this? I want to know if a feature can be added that when you punch your tamed Dino, it ignores you for like 30 seconds. So many times has it been so annoying when I have a cramped base and need to get by and a gigas head is in the way because he wants to look at you and won't move... At all.

    A new thread will be posted in this section, usually on Monday or Tuesday.  Be sure and watch for it.  It is titled Ark Digest Q&A.  They take questions for a few days and then post answers to some of the questions in the Community Crunch on Friday or Saturday.

    Where do we put in the questions for the digest cause I want to ask if they can make it so when you are riding a Dino in 3rd person and access the map, compass or GPS it automatically jumps to 1st person view and vice versa or if next week someone could ask that it would be great!

    Hallo my question is what about the new "mysterios mysteries" or as I like to call them! The broken dossiers how do they tie into the story? I have a THEORY if you want to hear it.... you dont..... I'll tell you anyways :] I think that the bosses are broken dossiers and the Ark Corporation was successful now they're splicing current world creature DNA with Dino DNA that's the short version hope you answer this!

    On the subject of the "undo" feature, (For a few seconds after place on object we have a few seconds to pick it back up if we misplaced it) We Xbox users see it soon? I just wasted an industrial forge due to controller malfunction and the "undo" feature would have been a life saver.

    my biggest question is the content added to primitive plus. some of that would be usefull on regular servers. will this be an option???

    now I know that you guys are adding "Official Mods" such as the Center and Primitive plus to XBONE but are you guys going to be capable of doing something in the Same capacity as Bethesda? because I would really love to play Annunaki Genesis on my Xbox.

    Darn right this is going to make so many people happy, I am one of them!

    The tribe ranks for being able to command dinos was a nice addition, but those ranks are completely ignored if you are an admin, so I have to still be very careful around my egg barn when whistling dinos.  I hope this comes out soon.  It will pretty much make my entire server happy depending on how it is executed.  Hopefully we won't have to walk up to each dino like we do for tribe ranking.  I'm a little bit if a dino hoarder and probably have at least 400 dinos in my base... probably more... LOL
