Community Crunch 506: Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

I wish you guys told us what are the criteria for servers to be put on Sunset-list, over the recent days since the announcement, there's been up to 21 people online on 5718 during late hours, Aberration is generally not a popular map because we only go there to farm metal. The total slaughter of tons of Aberration servers make little reason when you know as much as we do that Aberration is entirely a map used once or twice a week for farming Metal, and maybe once in a month for hosting Alpha Rockwell boss runs.

 

Now we've moved to another Aberration server that isn't affected by Sunset (5833), but just as on 5718 there's next to no one online for most of the days, only during 2X rates are there actual people online farming.. Again, we need transparency towards the criteria for what causes a server to be "Sunset". I wish for next wave of sunset that you HEAVILY evaluate what the map is used for, just closing down servers because they are 0 players in a work week when it's known to be a resource farm map only makes no sense whatsoever.

 

And yes, I get you need maps for next map release, you could've easily slaughtered tons of Island servers instead, there's so many on life support that survived the Sunset this time. Forcibly moving Aberration players onto one small map isn't as good, there was honestly no land to build on Ab servers since you don't actively enforce your Code of Conduct by doing weekly removals of pillar spam and I don't imagine it is any better on any of the other Aberration servers.. At least on Island, there's a vast ocean to force people onto Vacuum chamber bases.

Besides being cute, the 3D model doesn't seem to have detracted much from the beautiful original artwork. 8.5/10. Now we just have to wait for the gameplay.

We all asked that a few years ago, so WC gave us ASA.
So please for the love of ASA be carefull what you wish for.

This is disgraceful how you are sunsetting servers they have regularly activity. 
 

I’ve been playing Ark since ARK SE was launched and took a break and have been playing Ark ASA for about two years now, I’ve paid for multiple maps and content and now you are sundering two of the maps I play regularly including my most played played MAP Scorched Earth which is where I bread all of my Wyvern and various out dinos. 

Please don’t sunset these two severs there are plenty of active players on both, there are multiple players located near me and on other parts of the map that I see regularly online. I mostly play 7days a week, scorched earth often at weekend for 2x Breeding.

These are active maps and I can share usage data and other use logins numbers if needed:

Who ever is testing the serves for actively levels and number of users has clearly made a big mistake here. 
 

Please share details of how you are measuring which servers should me sunsetted or not?

 

it will be impossible for me to move all of my bases equipment, blueprints, dino and crypts etc 

 

After investing years of my time and lots of $$ you’re destroying this game for me and many others loyal players. I can’t start again from scratch and work long hours in the week and play at night weekdays and weekends. 
 

Please reconsiders and don’t sunset these active server OC/Australian servers.

They sunset pve servers where streamers regularly host boss fights or trap reapers for everyone to get preg, so the number of players at a single moment probably doesn't matter much. I can only assume they rank them based on both number of players and total playtime. And they won't sunset that many island servers at once, it's already almost impossible for new players to find a base spot in easy areas. Sunset half of the servers and only the ocean still has space. New players don't have vacuums and they're a new potential source of income for WC. I personally don't disagree with sunsetting inactive servers, just got 2 of mine sunset, both SE and Ab. The only issue i have with it is that I have to farm all the boss tributes again on the new server. It would be nice if they could allow a one-time transfer from sunsetting servers to another server for tributes and element.
