Community Crunch 488: Aureliax, the Scales of Judgment

What little we see of it is gorgeous. That render is really fantastic, I hope the rest of the Aureliax is as good as this preview !

The Chinese dragon theme has been a bit of a surprise, but the execution so far looks very enticing.

Honestly I don't think many creatures on the list of winners need a TLC, but overall this has been a cool idea. It feels more productive in the long run than just rates for a couple of days.
Provided we don't come to regret it once the TLCs appear in the game, I say we do it against next year ? Regardless of whether you guys hold an ExtraLife livestream or not a year from now.

I know there's going to be a lot of people who will say that Megalosaurus does not need a TLC, I'm here to say it deserves it.

I know it's more useful in AB, but not as useful on other maps, as it just sleeps during the day.

 

Megalosaurus was literally also the first ever dinosaur discovered, so, again, it deserves it.

Godddddd please let this not be just a siege tame like the titanosaur and let it be a permanent tame, same for giga-desmodus, giving us access to early creatures is fun and I enjoy it be if we also had these two dinos to look forward to have permanently it'd give us a little bit more to explore with when the map comes out 

Made a Araneo TLC and added a few adjustments so that’s exciting to hear they’ll be taking ideas as feedback

Dragons are always the coolest tames and it’s awesome to see a Chinese Dragon added

 

honestly all we need now is some kind of Water Dragon (Gen 1 hopefully)

Honestly people been saying it’ll be the end of the Livestreams but I don’t get why they couldn’t do a Livestream and TLC stuff next year at the same time

 

i personally think it’d be cool to see the Giga feel more like it’s former glory, Spider definitely needs one and the Quetz could use one too, the other 2 I’m meh on

Checking and my Veilwyn has 12 mutations 😅

But yeah it would mess with early game, mine are only level 217 and I give them 5k health and 600% melee but it can take out anything in the swamp safely when you call in clones of itself and even Deinosuchus or fliers in the air get warped on and killed, so it might be bad for the map launch early game.

I've always said that Wyverns are honorary dinos in my book, and that extends to Chinese dragons. I have reservations about some fantasy creatures in ARK, but certainly not those !
Although if I'm being fully honest, I always thought that Chinese dragons should be introduced to the game as giant, living artefact caves. You hitch a ride, forceopen their mouth, and explore their vast entrails... the exit might be worse than the encounters inside, tho  But oh well, the Lost Colony way is ok too.

(I actually meant the Chinese mythology theme in my original post, but too late to edit now, plus it's basically the same sentiment anyway)

The giga-desmo is a boss tame, so I don’t see how that’s gonna be tamable.

if they do this next year, I think they should focus solely on unlocking TLC Slots and not voting on actual creatures with the $1=1 Vote system, yes the money is for a good cause but doing it that way favors the rich, I'd rather we unlock the TLC slots by donating and then do a popular style vote, idea submissions  and all

Not saying you have to like her face, but they have been working on making her look more like her voice actress Madeleine Maddon.  All the characters have been looking more like their voice actors over time and so I've actually been wondering if there are ideas to make a live action show or movie after the animated series.

Transferring a crappy fox will help wonders at early stages, thanks for letting us know at the brink of the release, so people spent all this time mutating for nothing  or at least not until transfers are open, if they are actually digivolvable.

All the rest of this crunch are super kudos to the team. Super nice stuff going on. Only that part should have being said earlier.

Guys... that Chinese dragon is a blast from a design standpoint. I'm also curious to see how they'll render the Megalosaurus.
