Community Crunch 487: Get Your Gloon On!

I am super hyped ! can't wait for it, and Gareth Coker Cooked again with the awesome music

I love the Chinese Dragon btw, can't wait to tame one! I wonder if it got any connection with Mei Yin or just coincidence  
(since most of these creature in this map might be artificially evolved in some direction based on the people living there, so who knows)

Looking forward to opening my tribe log and seeing I got wiped by The Glooners.

Wonder if there'll be a new plant species type on LC or if the map will have plant species Z to use on the corrupted looking enemies.

I'm going to be honest: I'm actually okay with Therizino getting a TLC, although I do agree with most people that probably shouldn't (and I know certain "Syntac" is responsible for this).

 

I think it should at least get a design update...

...did the Therizino REALLY need a rework? if you ask me it really doesn't need one when its already an extremely good creature

I think there is not hiding what is Ark Lost Colony. Ark 2...or whatever we were shown by IGN as ARk 2. Map will most likely be divided into 3 parts. Frozen Tundra and a Primitive city like area. Its definitely going to have the vibes of Christal Isles(Fantastical). The other Halve will be Aberration like plus an area of even more corrupted creatures where the "RED Element" will be found. That is going to be a danger zone. And within that Danger Zone we will enter a castle. And in that castle we will experience for the first time hordes of enemies per stage to get to the main boss. That main boss will be human like. First of its kind. That is my theory. But I am extra disappointed there is no Trailer entering December. That just smells like...ARk trouble.

The Therizinosaurus does not need a TLC. If anything, it's going to get monkey pawed, and end up getting nerfed instead.

Hilarious marketing strat to show the frog not the awesome dragon, (this isn't trash talk btw I love it) its so uncomfortable to look at and yet it was the first thing I noticed in the art, over the giant hell-bat in the top right and the awesome dragon on the left (hoping the big bat is also tameable btw, I know its a lot to ask for but likeeeeee please?????????)

 

Glad Val has a date of Dec 8th for transfers, in case anyone missed it like I did.

2-day delay? That's it? Why, I was expecting that the delay would be 365 days!

They really added Goofy Goobers into the game (also I wish the 4th slot went to something else personally but what’s done is done)

 

also all the new creatures look awesome, both the Dragons are hype

I heard they want to update all the older creature models, which is where the Theri TLC makes me very iffy, most people who want it just want a updated model but if all the creatures are getting new models anyways then that puts the Theri in a awkward position

 

hopefully it comes out great (I don’t got a lot of ideas but I mean with fingers like those a impale attack could be cool)

Pls buy Giga and theri from paleo ARK and give the TLCs to two other creatures. Galli and Pelagornis need it way more than those two. Both just need a model tlc and a fix to the gnash

It wouldn't be a WildCard release without a delay. Wouldn't it be more honest at this point to just say "hey survivors, we're staying true to tradition and are announcing a delay, everyone take a drink !" and fully acknowledge what our expectations of you are at this point ? Also I think WildCard should give 1k/day to Extra Like every time they announce that they need extra time for a release. Let's get a Delay Jar involved !

What kind of significative difference can 48hrs possibly make, though ? And you just know that the launch will still be a misery anyway...

Ugh, a Theri TLC. Just like the Giga it's asking for trouble. These are creatures that are used abundantly, and even though their models have aged, a TLC of their abilities is going to make more people unhappy than happy, just you watch. Other creatures need that TLC sorely on both accounts however... But I guess the new Theri will have the Paleo Theri as competition, which should at least force WildCard to step up their game (the Paleo Theri's model is awesome, only thing I don't like are its color regions).

The good news is, the Gloon looks weird. A fun weird. I don't exactly understand the recurring obsession with "so ugly it's cute" in ARK, but it makes more sense in Lost Colony than, say, Gen2 imho.

On the artwork, we see a gloon perched on veilwyn. I wonder, is it going to be a thing, using companion to bring another shoulder pet with you? Because between cat, drakeling and pyromane, the shoulder slot forces some hard choices...the ability to bring in extra shoulder pet with an ability to quickly swap between them would be great.

Gareth Coker never dissapoints, his music is AWSOMEEE and BADASSS.

exited for the Theri rework. I mainly think it just needs a new model though. nothing crazy. But I would have loved to see the Bronto or Pelegornis get a TLC. those creatures really suffer visually...

The Gloon reminds me of the Basilisk from Dark Souls. I hated that thing so much.
