And yeah I don't think the Therizino should have gotten as high as it did in the way it did either, but putting a label that all the community unanimously feels that way is just incorrect, its clearly a divisive creature meaning it splits the community with people like me not liking how it got so high

I actually saw a tamed level 315 Megaraptor take down a level 95 Carcar and Giga on that video I showed that you didn't want to watch (and I know you're going to complain about it still being "useless").

Divisive?!? HOW!?! It's the Therizino!!! It HAS a job, and it does that gob perfectly! It's a wood harvester! it gathers fiber better than anything! and it's a pretty good fighter! If people think it needs a TLC despite all that, then that speaks more to the community's STUPIDITY then anything else, so yes I'd say calling them sheep would be pretty accurate.

And I dont agree either, but clearly it wouldn't be in 5th place if people didn't want it, whether that's a good reason or not (which I dont think it is)

Oooh, it took down wild creatures roughly a third it's level... Whoopty F*cking do. 

Mayby if it were only level 15 and not 315, I'd be more impressed.

Sadly probably the latter, the night before it was 20th place based on GP's video and skyrocketed from Syntac's stream

Then my point stands.

Usually Syntac is pretty cool, but I just cant agree with how the Therizino got boosted, for the Creature Votes it was basically made a silent rule that creators didn't want to use their influence to sway votes

 

So this whole Therizino situation feels like backtracking on that which is why it bothers me personally, it's not about the votes its about how it got so high

Not really, it got kicked out of top 4 and I've seen plenty of people upset or even saying it ruined the vote so clearly a large majority weren't happy with it either 

 

Maybe they aren't as vocal but there are definitely people who also dislike how it got so high (and the fact it really doesn't need many changes doesn't help either)

First off... No, I am saying MEGARAPTOR is bad. Just because I don't like ONE of Garuga's creations doesn't mean I dislike all of them. That's like saying "Oh, I hate War of the Worlds! So Everything Steven Spielberg makes is terrible!"

Second, there's having a different opinion, and then there's just mindlessly following a content creator... the case with Theri is most certainly the latter. As you have already admitted.

Third, What exactly is divisive about blindly agreeing with a content creator?

And again, WHAT-PEOPLE-AGREE?!?!? Because as you said before, the Therizino just shot up overnight because of the influence of a content creator, a very POPULAR one at that. So yes, SHEEP is very much an accurate description of a good chunk of the community.

Again it rubs me the wrong way with how the Therizino got so high, I wouldn't mind it if it was natural and got the votes legit instead of riding it's way to 1st place on a hype train, I personally wouldn't want it but it wouldn't bother me

 

But your keen on staying with the generalization narrative of "well this specific community has done this so that must mean everyone is like that"

Again, True, but look at the line up... Quetzal is passable for something that needs a TLC but most of everything else, not so much. The only ones I'd argue need it most are the spider and Bronto... Everything else is either too new, or do their job well enough already. It's cool that we are getting 5 TLCs instead of four, but I'm sure the people who give a damn would much prefer all five would go to tames that need it, rather than 4 out of five or less.

Anky has it's role too, it's a metal miner, and oh boy is it REALLY good at it, even before the genes were a thing.

 

As for why the spider would need a TLC, because no one uses it... I mean really, when was the last time you tamed one and did you even know they could be tamed before now? What even is a spider's role as a tamed creature? To bolas and slow enemies... that's it, sadly something already does this better... the regular bolas. now I'm not saying I particularly WANT a spider TLC, but I would say it deserves one more than... most of anything else in the top 10.

I can think of a few things aside from the obvious things a spider can do (that being wall climb and make its webs more effective.) Like make it so you can harvest its webbing as a substitute for silk, maybe just make it generate silk passively. Or make it so you can milk it's fangs for its venom as a substitute for biotoxin. You could even give it a bit of a "spidy-sense" and let it detect movement from further away and/or behind objects.

 

Anky was never really meant to be a combatant, there are plenty of herbivores who fill that role far more perfectly.

See, it doesn't take a lot of imagination to breathe new life into a TLC... Especially for a creature that needs it like the spider. In fact I'd wager it's easier to do it for the creatures that need it than it is the ones that don't. I mean really, what can be done to much of anything in the top 10  aside form "a cool looking model update"?

 

Therizino as we already established has THREE different jobs it can do, and it does them all very well. It can be a wood harvester, and can haul large loads of it with enough carry weight. It can be a fiber gatherer, collecting vast quantities of it just like it would wood. And it can be a fighter, which it rivals the rex in power (and rexes are already boss killers.) So it really doesn't need a TLC.

 

Giga is a fighter, and is the best at it. Even after the Carch came around it still maintained it's job as a dangerous monster in PvP. It REALLY doesn't need anything done to it, a model update maybe but that seems like a waste of potential that could have been gone to something that needs it. Plus, part of me thinks that people think it will just be a carbon copy of Evo Giga made by Up From The Depths... Which just isn't happening even IF the giga got a TLC.

 

Megalosaurus is in an odd spot, on the one hand people don't typically tame it but only because it's a cave tame which are notorious for being annoying to tame. And it has the whole "Nocturnal predator who is less effective during the day and will go full sleepy time if it stays awake in the day too long" thing, which isn't fun since who would want to use a tame for only the night hours of an in game day? On the other hand, Aberration exists, a map that is always night AND has it's own variant of Megalosaurus. Here, this animal not only shines but THRIVES. So does it need a TLC? No not really.

 

Quetzal is one of the few on this list I would say, needs a TLC. it's already difficult to tame since it never lands in the wild so people don't typically tame one unless they just so happen to be lucky enough to find one at a high level and have the buddies to help. It has a platform saddle but other than that there isn't anything remarkable about this colossal flyer. It's model is also ancient, not as old as something else on this list but still pretty old.

 

We already talked about the Spider, and what it can get and benefit from a TLC... so I'll skip it.

 

Gallimimus... Another one where I must ask... Why? It's the fastest thing on land in the world of ARK, it's role is to be a quick means to get around and it does that really well. It is also a multi seater which not many tames are, which only adds to its usefulness. So why is it here?

 

Thylacoleo is too new, and it is a pretty solid tame already with all of its abilities. It looks visually appealing so it doesn't need a model update either. so again, the question is... why is this here?

 

Brontosaurus is has been around from the very beginning, So of course it needs a model update. but the question is... what else would it really do? Sauropods are only known for one of two other things, transporting in bulk, and hitting like a freight train, sometimes both. I'm all for it getting a TLC, and I do agree that it needs one.

 

Allosaurus doesn't need to be here. It's a combat dinosaur that can go into boss arenas, so one might ask why tame one when you can use a Rex? My retort would be "Because Rexes don't benefit from numbers as much as Allos do." They are the largest of the pack animals, which means they also have the highest melee of the bunch too. Their alpha can also inflict bleed which is very useful, and they have pretty rounded stats in other categories too.

 

Carno on the other hand could use a TLC, it too has been around since always and could use a model update. And Since Cerato came along it's been effectively replaced as the middle wight champion in combat. Carno used to be great at what it does, but now with so many other mid sized theropods around nothing about it is all that special.

Glad the octopus won, But that ossidon is awful!
