Cryopods on Official PvE and PvP.png

We’ve got a pretty important update on Cryopods that addresses some community frustrations on both PvE and PvP. Let’s begin with PvE.

We’re reverting the requirement for nearby Cryofridges when deploying Cryopods on PvE entirely. This brings back the experience to match what was on ARK: Survival Evolved. This change will come into effect on Monday, November 11th.

Now for PvP. We’re not walking back all the changes for this game mode, but we will be making an adjustment. As of Monday, November 11th, we will no longer be checking to see if Enemies are in radius when deploying creatures from Cryopods (the cryofridge requirement will still remain), and we’ll be monitoring and evaluating the impact of this change and whether we feel it’s necessary to take it a step further. We've some other ideas about how we can address some of the pain points in PvP related to cryos, namely with specific tweaks to caves and cryo-related behaviour around caves, however we're going to hold on those changes for now until we've gathered more data.

Custom Cosmetics & Dynamic Download Stalls.png

We’ve identified a stall when dynamically downloading custom cosmetics, and it relates to the way that the mod plugins are being loaded in game. We’re looking into a solution to change how the mods are loaded and hope to have that resolved as soon as possible. In the interim you can eliminate the stalls by disabling “Dynamic Downloads” in the options menu. This will prevent the stalls, but also stop you from loading any custom cosmetics that are dynamically downloaded (ones you’ve manually installed should still work).

    Inactive Server Sunsetting Update.png

We're working closely with our partners at Nitrado to make the official server saves from our sunsetted servers available soon. We know how much these worlds mean to you, and we're committed to helping preserve your hard-earned progress. Stay tuned for more updates!

    Expire Servers Reminder.png

    Expire Servers.jpg

On April 8th, we deployed a new type of server across the network (for the various game types) that we refer to as "Expire" (which is what you can search for in the session filter).

These servers will be online until 10 am PST / 1 pm EST on November 15th. We're preemptively using our allocation for Extinction to host some additional sessions that players can travel onto to farm, tame, and experience Aberration Gameplay. The same transfer restrictions apply in that you are only able to download your character, but you can freely take anything off. This is to help reduce load off some of the other servers, or provide players an option for those who just want to jump onto Aberration temporarily.

Please note that these servers will no longer exist after 10 am PST / 1 pm EST on November 15th, so if you intend to use them, remember to transfer your items/creatures/characters off before that date, as nothing will be saved beyond that time period.

Well, I’m glad Wildcard has people to buy all their expansion stuff. I think they almost went into debt a while ago, and I’m sure we all don’t want that again. I don’t even have anything that can run Ascended, so IDK if all the extra paid content is any good or not. I’d probably prefer to go mostly base-game if I had ASA.

The Power Rangers collaboration is very good, but will they come to East Asia again?
Previously, Japanese people were very disappointed.

I was wondering how Extinction OSDs & veins would be like with the current cryopod behavior.
Now I don't have to worry anymore, actual WildCard W

Only thing missing now is a config option of the "creature recently injured" cryo prevention.

I love power rangers but I can't afford it. !w! the canadian dollar sucks so hard, and with g-force now about to limit play times to 100 hours a month, me being around to play and enjoy this stuff would be lasting much longer.

I've done it a while back as in the PvE option for Single Player, you can take out creatures as many times as you want without worrying for cryosickness

It's really sad to see that you can't even stick to your decision... The game isn't easy enough already.. Thanks to the cryo change, people will also start leaving many of their tames in the caves again... this change will also make it easier to grief others in PVE while your support is not punishing players in PVE.... even when they cheat...

why not bringing back movement speed to make the game finally a big joke in terms of "survival"?

You removed the speed because of balance and now you removed the cryofridge requirement?

PLEASE dont ever talk again about balancing... you have zero clue how much your decisions make this game look like a joke in terms of "survival". Now everyone can just throw out a giga again and we have back the boring gameplay we had with the cryos in ASE...

good job... good job... thats no survival... you had the chance to change something...

They didn't even want cryos to be in the game yet. But the community on both PvE and PvP begged for them.

Speed was a decision made so travel and fights couldn't be trivialized. It sure as hell aint a "realistic survival experience" for a human to outrun a utahraptor.

Now cryopods are inherently going to ruin that "realistic survival experience" you don't need to think "how do I get these creatures from point A to Point B safely?" Instead you just have a glorified toolbelt. You can carry your harvesting, fighting, army, and travel dinos for any environment in your pocket. (This is why I personally liked the cryofridge change at least in thought)

But it turns out this system ends up being more irritating than thought provoking.

But cryos likely aren't going anywhere. They're tied to too much. OSDs, Bosses, Missions, Mini-Games, etc.

So wildcard is experimenting. Cryos deploying anywhere feels unbalanced. Cryos requiring powered fridges and a countdown timer does "balance things" but is also just not fun (one the most important aspects of a game).

Really though the main the reason the community refuses to live without cryos is breeding and long term storage.

Without the ability to store several hundred creatures servers quickly fill up the tame limit. But also breeding without the ability to reroll impronts anf

Zero problems with cryos for long term storage. Zero problems with cryos for breeding.

"Speed was a decision made so travel and fights couldn't be trivialized. It sure as hell aint a "realistic survival experience" for a human to outrun a utahraptor.
    - But its ok to cryo out a giga in every dangerous situation? xD Sorry but if they remove the cryo fridge they can remove the speedlimit also. With the cryo change they already showed that they have no clue about balancing and what it means to play a "survival game".

    "Cryos deploying anywhere feels unbalanced."
    - It IS unbalanced. It makes every survival situation a joke.

"but is also just not fun"
    - everyone defines fun different. Its more fun to do caves and other stuff where you have to decide what dino you choose and how to bring it there safely. How you explore the cave and how you get through it. All of this is gone now.

    "So wildcard is experimenting."
    - Ehm.. no. They do not experiment. They have simply given up their balance decision. To all those who don't want survival at all and would rather get everything over with brain-dead and boring "gameplay".

"But also breeding without the ability to reroll impronts anf"
    - This function was never something in ASA. They fixed that in the beginning.

It never was a set in stone decision. They originally said when they brought the cryopods out early that they will be monitoring them and adjusting where they see it necessary. They always had the open intention to make changes further down the line. Now it turns out there were necessary changes.

So you could say they DID stick to their decision.

Come on, over time they have made giant steps in the game and as long as it is a mod why not!? Sometimes you have to have fun too. I am already happy for the simple arrival of extiction when, compared to some time ago, we did not even know if the game would survive.

HAHA because of cry babies who dont want a survival game. Not because it really IS necessary.
Seriously... this change back to the ASE cryos totally destroys the survival aspect of the game.
