Community Crunch 430: Introducing Archelon from ARK: Additions!

Has there ever been a development studio so committed to pressing on with new content whilst ignoring the state of their game? 

Have you heard of minecraft, call of duty, or really an unfortunate majority of modern games made by non-indie studios? 

The Archelon is one of my favorte Ark Additions dinos, so this is good... well not news, because it had leaked a couple of weeks ago, but good thing nonetheless. does it look toothier here, or is it just the artwork that gives that impression ?

WAIT, REALLY ?! You're finally adding algae as a resource ? Did I read that right ? I've always thought the underwater needed its own unique resource (especially with pearls being more and more available on land as new maps appeared), so this is making me very happy.
The wiki seems to suggest that they're a component of the sushi you were alluding to last week ? I love this. More resources and recipes is always a good time for me as a PvE and SP player (and not the crap like green gems and fragmented green gems being the same thing under a different name, but ACTUALLY new resources).

And if they don't, people complain that nothing is going on, the game is stale, ARK is dead, and at least ASE had such and such map so why bother with ASA ? so it's a no-win situation.

You guys need to do something about the terrible performance the game has. Make a way to disable nanite for the foliage because its straight up killing the game for many people. Its a joke how even high end modern hardware needs to rely on upscalers and TAA in order to make the game even playable at a reasonable quality and performance, and older hardware that used to run ASE with no issues whatsoever can only dream of getting 30 fps at 1080p rendering at a 40% resolution scale and having 2 seconds of TAA ghosting. People are waiting for FSR to come and save the day for everyone yet they fail to realize that its only a bandage patch for the terrible performance that's hiding underneath.

Where is Ragnarok? Its by far the mod map people liked the best in ASE and we still have no news about it. I'm glad extinction is coming back, but at this point I feel like people are just waiting for ASA to become what ASE used to be up until Genesis release which ruined the PvP aspect of the game. I hope you revert the cryopod nerfs with Ext release, because as of right now people are using them the exact way as they did in ASE but with the extra annoyance of having to take a cryopod and a generator to every single map you transfer to.

That's my rant. For the love of god, fix the performance. I couldn't care less about how good the game looks if I have to play it at 40% resolution scale at 720p with the extreme input lag that all the upscaling and TAA adds, and I feel like most people that play PvP share my same thoughts. I know so many people that are still playing on unofficial ASE servers simply because they cant stand playing at 30 fps on 2024

Any plans to ever address the broken drop beacons on Series S??? They've been broken since Scorched dropped in April and the team have never said a word about it. Series S doesn't have a way to manually adjust the Global Illumination to make them visible. 

6 months is far too long to let this go on without so much as a "we're working on it". 

Archelon's Coming, and with it comes Sushi, which means no more tames getting their efficiency ruined. Oh and Herbivore mutton if Kibble isn't something you have on hand.

is this happening soon? 

it was announced for this summer but as far as I know it still hasn't come out and you haven't talked about it since

I have my own server and at the moment I cannot add premium mods to my server for fear of losing players.

To answer the "toothier" part here, the mouth looks like this:

The leatherback turtle for example has points on the tomium of its upper lip, with backward spines in its throat (esophagus) to help it swallow food and to stop its prey from escaping once caught.

Ya'all gotta stop complaining. Remove all ARK content and go play something your time is worth. The game is dead, no matter how much crapcontent they keep on adding. They still need to fix stuff as old as ASE.

Maybe can I give a suggestion for event?

my suggestion is like Xmas event if we are “good” we receive cryo baby Dino if u “bad” u receive a attack by Dino’s…for this Halloween event i suggest something similar but called “trick or treat” so in one u receive cryo baby’s or bps or chibis and on other u got attacked by zombie dodos or ghost/sketal Dino’s. Think should be fun something like that ?
