You're right. I wish they were accurate. The images they use are pretty nice. However, even so I'd expect Shastasaurus to be the biggest or second biggest real animal in ARK. Even though its dossier says Titanosaurus, the Titanosaur seems to be more like Argentinosaurus in size.

I'd love for ark to end up in non-snail hands, but Snail will get to keep the IP unless it gets botched so bad that snail sells it off to recoup costs... which can only really happen if asa tanks. So the options are:

 

1) the servers for ase close with no info about how to download saves for single player, much less non-nitrado hosting, and we all just accept it and buy asa and get locked into a monopoly on unofficial servers unless we're daddy warbucks and can host a server rack in our basement, which we're never allowed to even try and recoup the costs for. We put faith into a company that hosted their game on servers so bad that you get lag every 5 minutes for the entirety of their existence, that has a parent company that bans players when they play too good against teams that snail games like, and that haven't shown us any active dev streams or active video and refuse to, giving us the Linus tech tips "trust me bro" guarantee. Doing so allows said parent company to continue limping along, with the paying customer vaguely hoping that they get better with the added money. I mean sure they could, and by that token my cat could learn to use a toilet by himself, but the closer reality is that in both cases, the affected parties are going to keep making a mess of things.

 

2) The bad life choices of the aforementioned companies happen, but we don't encourage it. We just don't buy the game, we continue to make it VERY well known why we're not buying the game, we call out questionable company and moderation practices, and we show where other games and companies have done really well by their communities and their games. Ark doesn't have to be THE Dinosaur Survival game. Snail games doesn't own the ideal of dino survival. If Ark dies... so what?

 

like break it down.

when pve people (hi, yup, still here and complaining), said that our time and efforts would be wasted, the general feedback was "so what?"

when pvp players had an issue with bias on the part of snail games, the feedback was "so what?"

When people wanted to host on non-nitrado servers for asa without buying a full server setup, the feedback was "so what?"

When people had issues about paid mods and overwolf, the feedback was "so what?"

When the console players listed their many, many valid issues with everything going on, the feedback was "so what?"

So we let Asa fail, and snail sells off the ip rights to try and make some money back, and if they don't, or if it doesn't go to wildcard... so what? They, piece by piece, destroyed nearly anything we should care about in the game. So why should we care if the hollowed-out husk fails?

 

After all, didn't they tell us that if didn't like it, we could vote with our wallets?

Honestly, if they (snakes, wc) will need money or they were missing correct budget for hardware and even for software work, they had possibility to sell stuff for real money like in any other online game (virtual currency, buy it for real money, use it to get resources or dinos - and we all know that even against coc, it was quite common for players to sell or buy - so players have money). milions players, its quite a lot of money. But this company sold just few skins  on top of basic income. And that one they spend on video with famous guy to introduce ark 2 which will be postponed cuz they spend budget for game development on that video  and rest of money they spend on meetings with main topic: what we will do?

And looking at all bugs they were solving for years (and did not solve)? Omg, IT skills on so low level for such a high salary? Probably, cuz they cannot hire more people? Lol 

They just thinking too much about details and have to step back a bit. All is possible, but progress is a matter of approach. Its like with those saves for PS players - to use it in single mode. Common, normal players do not need all stuff (which they never used at all), all bases that are mostly just to show others what they did. What they wanted for single player was some great dinos and resources. Not too much data. And data is possible to treat based on tribe. That idea to copy whole server in once and download it to any PS for single player is mad. On other hand, if you know how your data from single player are stored, you can imagine that even more data is possible, just a matter of skills  and correct management of company. thats a wekaness. but they will make new pages, remove all angry players, start asa, collect money, all will happen. story will be just less famous but similar. 

 

Sorry to ask but maybe someone can tell me if i understood everything with the Server transfer.

1. Transfering all my stuff from other servers to the server i want to transfer and put everything in a chest and cryo tower.

2. Being online on the Server in September for 12 hours.

Is that everything or did i understood something wrong?

1. Dont transfer all your stuff, it will take months. Take only what you really need. Servers already laggy enough.

2. No need to be online. Just stay in bed on server that you need to upload later. Honestly, if you will be online, server ping will get mad jumping from hi to low, cuz you will be moving  Imagine that you are just a data. Those data will move. Its like you copy file from one folder to another one but you are still working with that file

If you plan on downloading one server save for SP, then yes you would want to move your items to that one server, and leave you char on it for the time to make sure it is in the save file. 

If you plan on downloading the saves of all your servers then, no do not move items, but still leave your char on one for 12 hrs to be sure it is on a server save file that they take.

Thanks for the answer, i just wanted to know since being online on a server for 12 sounds a bit extreme, i hope it will be everything fine with the Server.

and I remember the SE vote. there was a Chameleon and a Chameleon that looked like a T-rex... It was majungasaurus, it's in the same family as carnotaurus, which in the jp books had the hability to change colors like a chamaleon, so it's a reference to that, i get you're point and you are right to some degrees but please research a bit before saying things, also the saddle wasn't tek It was in "modern" tier, so they just have to change the desing and It could easily fit in.

Sorry for the dumb question. If I want to continue playing offline in a local game, how can I move my base there? And what do I need to do for this? Sorry again.

It will be a file you can download and just put into the correct folder, then when you next load into that map it will be the official one with yours and everyone else's stuff on there. (make a back up of your current single player map if you want to keep it).

There will be full instructions at the time, if not from WC, then youtubers will explain it step by step, it really is super easy to do though.

I don't need to research that. All u did was add words that prove my point scientifically.

 

Subs a technology not gonna function in ARK2 bec its all gonna be primitive and Natural. No guns, like in Primal. Watch it if u haven't already.

 

And it the carnos cousin is in the same category of the sickeningly repetitive Theropod group. Which is the same group as a rex!

 

The devs mentioned we have 20+ of them and some variety would be refreshing. 

 

So when the community has a chance to get CHAMELEON like abilities added to ARK, it's between an actual CHAMELEON and a rex clone with Google eyes.

 

Its sad. So maybe u should think about what's being said next time. Just researching and not thinking made u prove my point. Works for me, but I imagine ur bummed out about it.

I tried some of the Server Backups from last Friday but everytime, with ArkServerManager, without ArkServerManager (normal StartServer.bat) and in local singleplayer i become this LowLevelFatalError, does someone know why?

My own server savefiles or the backup save files from e.g. 2017 backup works fine.

Problem solved with add the start parameters "-newsaveformat -usestore"

I have downloaded the save, and I have been able to enter the game in local mode, but it works at 1fps, is it okay for you?

Hi, good answer. If you know, how big will the files for bases be? Just an approximation if you know. I think I'll need to clear some space on the PC. I was going to DL my 5 maps with their toon. Thx!

So the way I'm reading this console players that don't have a computer are getting screwed.... unless they pay monthly fee to get their server downloaded through nitrado... i can't afford a computer so how do I afford a monthly fee crazy all my years of work just deleted.. thanks ark
