What types of things do you have planned in terms of Extra ARKs core-features?

What was your favourite and most difficult piece to add to the mod?

When I began I started adding things I knew I could do easily but I got to a point where I wanted to push myself and learn what I could really do with the Dev Kit. I began working on the Stone Battlement which taught me alot. I enjoyed learning and so I pushed to see what more I could do. It's not that the Stone Battlement was complex I just didn't have the knowledge but once I got that down packed I began to apply that to new structures and ended up creating the Double Doors, Trapdoors and Hatches. I think I have spent more time on perfecting the doors than anything.
As you've added quite a few extra structure pieces to the game, is game balance something you consider and if so - how do you figure out the direction to take, or are you aiming for this mod to appeal to more creative players?

Tell us more about your experience with modding. How are you finding the process so far? How are you finding working with the ARK Dev kit?

What is your creative process like when adding an extra item? Do you look for ideas from the community or has this just come from playing the game and being inspired through your experience?
QuoteEverything I added to Extra ARK has come from playing ARK and not being able to accomplish what I want. My Dad who is also a massive ARK fan doesn't know how to mod so we would quite often talk about our ideas and what we felt ARK lacked until I decided to stop talking about it and actually do something about it. My Dad has been a massive help to my creative process and if the community ever has anything they'd like to see added to the mod I am always keen to hear their thoughts.
What has the feedback and response been like from the community so far?
QuoteAs far as I've seen, feedback has been good. Obviously when I make a critical mistake like remove everyone's storage containers people are going to get a little upset which hey, I did too. Honestly though I am overwhelmed with the positive feedback of the community and how much everyone is enjoying the mod. I never expected so many people to use the mod let alone like it.
What are the long-term goals for the mod? Are you planning to continuously update it and do you have any upcoming features planned?
QuoteI will be working on this mod for the foreseeable future. I am really enjoying it all and if people enjoy what I make then that's just even more motivation. I can't see myself abandoning this mod unless I totally lost inspiration and motivation but I can't see any sign of that. I probably work on Extra ARK more now than ever. I do have a few more structures coming in the next update.
Do you have any tips for upcoming modders on what they can do when working with UE4 and ARK itself?
QuoteAll I can suggest is that if you were like me and didn't have much of an idea about the way the Dev Kit works then head over to the Modding forums and just read everything. Work your way through the tutorials sections, watch the UE4 videos on Youtube and you'll be making mods in no time.
Is there anything you’d like to end with before wrapping this up?
