  • Community Crunch 211: Winter Wonderland 4

    Winter Wonderland will be returning for the fourth time on Tuesday with all new presents for ARK survivors.  The winter-themed holiday event begins tomorrow at 10am PST for PC, XBOX, and PS4 and will last until Tuesday, January 7th.  All maps will receive Winter Wonderland and all its content including RaptorClaus and GachaClaus, however only The Island will have a visual winter theme.

    One of our most notable helpers, RaptorClaus, will be back to drop off holiday gifts filled with loot, event items, mistletoe, and lumps of coal for all those naughty survivors.  You'll be able to catch RaptorClaus flying across the skies at midnight (game time) on all maps.

    GachaClaus is also returning to help RaptorClaus spread the holiday cheer!  GachaClaus will be roaming all maps in holiday garb and sporting holiday-themed colors. He will be accepting your coal and in exchange will gift you holiday themed items, or you can trade in your mistletoe and coal for a chance at event items. weapons, armor and a brand new event item, Chibis!

    While Winter Wonderland is active, you'll have a chance to collect over 50 ARK chibi pets.  ARK chibi pets are cute miniaturized versions of the creatures you have become familiar with in your travels across the ARK universe.  Chibi's pets can be leveled up by killing specific alpha creatures and in return, you'll be granted additional player levels .  Some chibi pets may be harder to find so you'll have to visit GachaClaus and RaptorClaus to find all the chibi pets!  Can you collect them all? 

    Winter Wonderland Event Notes 

    Initiation of Winter Wonderland:
    Can be manually activated with: -ActiveEvent=WinterWonderland launch parameter
    Increased rates to 2X Breeding (mating interval, egg hatch speed, and maturation)
    Increased rates to 2X Player XP
    Increased rates to 2X Harvesting
    Increased rated to 2X Taming
    Added Event-themed wild dino spawns
    The Island has been given a makeover with a winter landscape and foliage.
    Coal and Mistletoe can be obtained from Raptor Claus gift drops
    Raptor Claus:
        Will spawn at midnight and drop gifts across the island.
        Gifts some special items like holiday structures, some skins, color candies, and chibis.
    Gacha Claus:
        Spawns on all maps
        Placing coal/mistletoe in the inventory of a wild Gacha Claus will cause it to grow crystals.
        The crystals have higher quality loot and a chance for chibis

    Chibi Ugly Sweater
    Red-Ball winter hat
    Gray-ball Winter Hat
    Purple Ball Winter Hat
    Reindeer Antlers Hat

    According to Cedric on twitter, they add up to 5 to player level cap... so if you're 135 now, can now go to 140.  Taming was just  added per Cedric's twitter too.  Wonderful new additions, can't wait to see the chibis… Thank you WC!

    It says 2x taming 3 lines below 2x breeding

    After the problems with the last couple of events I'm both apprehensive about this one and yet excited about the new pets. Please WC, be Santa and not the Grinch with the delivery of this event...

    For those of you complaining about no 2x taming, re read the post. Its 2x everything.

    You should read the rest of the comments. Namely the one that explains they added 2x taming to the event after they made their comments. So they may have influenced them to add it.

    Alright guys, can we all please stop arguing about the rates? At first, taming wasn't included. It was added and edited in later. End of story. Thanks, and enjoy the event! :)

    So much negativity here I’m just excited to see my second Christmas event I enjoyed the first one so much this is my favorite event! And it has a new edition to it this year, the chibis I’m super stoked.

    Seriously they delay it in order to ensure it will be less buggy and people like you throw a temper tantrum because you have nothing better to do with your lives...
    Dont be a c##k, take the money and delay the delivery of goods is breach of Consumer Laws in my country. Wildcard HAVE NEVER delivered anything on time and when they do, it is still full of bugs.

    If it’s abandoned then wildcard needs to state that otherwise this feels like the movie Office Space and the switch community was thrown in the basement without the stapler and “the Bobs” stopped sending pay checks (patches/updates)
