Community Bite: UE 5.5 and Roadmap Update

Good to see ATLAS buildparts are FINALLY being implemented. Still a bit sceptical about the releasedates. I really hope this goes well, altho I've ordered a truckload of popcorn...

...Before I say some nice things, and I'm about to so buckle up because it doesn't happen often, let me ask something that bugs me : why wasn't that said LAST FRIDAY ? You know, the one time of the week when we KNOW there's something posted on the official website ? When we await information and such ?

Working on all this can't possibly have been news to your own studio. Is the CM team left out of the loop until last minute, or are dates decided at the last minute, or what ? It's always like pulling teeth, with you, and even though we can't put our finger exactly on what exactly is dysfunctional at WildCard, we still can sense the dysfunction.

Honestly, this is the most fitting way to celebrate 10 years of Ark, Wildcard blowing a deadline and disappointing the community. On the 10 year anniversary we are going to have a broken, delayed mess and no Ragnarok, which was supposed to be done over a year ago. That is the Ark I know. Set a date for release. Miss the release date YOU set. Release a buggy, unplayable mess months late. Rinse and repeat for a decade. Happy 10 years of Ark.

Maybe after the 5.5 upgrade, more features can be worked on.

Like how the campfire is 1x cooking speed, fireplace is only 1.25x cooking speed and grill is 40x cooking speed; the fireplace deserves more love! When you go to the highlands in Ragnarok and there's a public grill placed down but no gasoline, it just makes you want to break it from frustration.

Nothing for greenhouse tho? Quarter walls and ceilings would be nice, as well as the quarter roofs and shallow slopes walls that everything else is getting

If people are leaving public crafting or cooking available on ASA they’re probably running generators for them so u shouldn’t have to worry about not having gasoline

Please please please use Steam Beta to test this ahead of launch? Allow users to opt in and deploy beta servers and beta clients so we can test these updates before we enter game breaking territory.

When y’all get together to put out these dates initially yall don’t take the time to make sure you can actually hit them? Like given the track record of ASA you don’t actually make sure you’re not always putting yourselves in positions to seem like you’re lying to your playerbase?

Never gonna happen.

Its not producing any revenue for Snail. Better to use the servers wich are up and grab massive amounts of data from there. Lost stuff? Ye, cause its early acces they get away with that; you're the one who bought it under those terms. Like the rest of us. 

For me personally its not the mods nor the paid content, its the graphics update wich I'm waiting for. For years, WildCard never made any deadline without tearing up players progress. And it will never be, made peace with that. Yet, I bought the game to see if the graphics part works out (in the end). Patiently yet not always confident, tho I cant wait till UE gets implemented to see how far the game has come.

Ima day 1 ASE player, with waaaay too many hours in the game. Am I finally going to get that smoothness, with over 120 FPS and visually stunning looking game and get me hooked again for the next 15K hours?

I still have a little hope I do.

After 17,000 hours of game play, I've learned a few things:

Cedric is mortal, but he's a good mortal.  Probably needs 50 more people helping him.
Release dates are set by the studio, not by Cedric.
To my knowledge, Ark has never hit a release target fair and square.

By fair and square, I mean that if the game was released on that day, it was still 2 weeks before it was playable.

Still, this is the laggiest, buggiest, rinse and repeat game I've ever loved, and I obviously love it, or I would have spent that two years of my life building rockets that land themselves.

I just meant to say that the information of Cedric being the lead CM (or doing any CM work whatsoever) is now obsolete. Then again maybe it's both, and I've accidentally found out that Dollie is an AI.

June 2nd? Don't count on it, it is a Monday, if anything in past WC will just delay update till the Friday, then make a reason why it not ready, yes we all are excited especially for the incubator and new building material but let face it, wc had never been reliable at all
