  • ARK's Valentine Celebration

    Love is in the air and what better way to celebrate Valentines Day than with our #MateBoosted Event!

    The ARK will be placed under Cupid's loving spell. With this event, Survivors will be gain the ability to learn one new emote, as well as a new stylish hairstyle for each gender. Creatures have also been affected by Cupid's spell in the following way:

    • They have a 5% chance to drop a Box of Chocolate when they mate. Boxes of Chocolate can be used for a Full Heal or to advance 50% of a creature's taming affinity bar.

    All servers (including Officials) using the following commandline parameter: -vday can get some extra mate-boosted bonuses:

    • Mate Boosted range increased by 2x
    • Mating Speed and Mating Recovery increased by 3x
    • Creature Maturing and Egg Incubation speed has been increased by 3x
    • Baby Food Consumption has been decreased by 1/3

    Make sure to relaunch your Steam Clients to get the latest update!

    Survivors also have the opportunity to send out their own customs Valentines Day card to their loved ones. Head over to http://playark.com/valentines/  and create your custom card! Be sure to send us a tweet with your image attached and the #MateBoosted,so that over the course of the week we can retweet your loving messages!

    The update & event will be coming console later this week once the Major Content version releases!

    I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that since the Ark Evolution 1.5x event is announced as running until the 20th on PS4 that the Valentine's Event won't start until the 21st which is next Tuesday at least perhaps for consoles.  Maybe it will be sooner if the "major content release" does arrive later this week. Meh. Whatever works

    Sorry for you man, maybe the game is trolling you because no variety, i am having 2 boxes per day, already have 4 and no big number of tames, but variety.

    Xbox - Today around 4pm ET (approx 5.5 hours from now) - Should last 7-8 days I believe.

    PS4 - Due later this week and should last 7-8 days.

    Nice that wildcard completely missed the mark for PS4........ and after officially posting that PS4 would get it early...... they fail to submit tek patch to Sony for testing in time. Well done guys, well done. Maybe rename this event Stupid Cupid

    Is it that important that the event starts on Valentines Day? It lasts for a whole week, it is the event that is important, not the date. A lot of people are likely to be busy with their other-halves on Valentines Day anyway.

    Put it this way, if the patch dropped on Feb 15th would you enjoy it any less than if it dropped on Feb 14th?

    The Mac client updated to version 254.94 and I now finally got 1 Box 'o Chocolates from my 43 strong dodo army. Not sure if it's related. At this rate I will have maybe another 2 boxes before the event finishes...

    I believe the chocolate will vanish when the event ends.

    It is still in Sony Cert/QA. Hopefully in the next day or two.

    This game is trolling me. I logged in before work today. I saw a Box 'o chocolates. It despawned while I was wrestling through my dodo army to get to it.

    Count so far: 1 Box 'o chocolates from about 25 hours of effort.

    I still really don't like the way this event is designed.
