    ARK Sponsored Mod Program!

Today we are proud and excited to announce the launch of the ARK Sponsored Mod Program. ARK has always viewed modding and the ARK Dev Kit as a very important aspect of our game. We want to look into ways to help our modders take their projects to the next step, be it through more robust capabilities in the Dev Kit, hosting competitions with large prize-pools, incorporating them into the game, or just generally working and partnering up with modders and their projects.

Since partnering up with Epic and opening up our ARK Dev Kit in July 2015 and we have seen over 2,500 different mods enter our Steam Workshop. It is an understatement to say how much we truly appreciate and value our modding community and want to do more to help facilitate the progress of mods, as well as modders.

ARK Mods have contributed mightily to the game's longevity and variety, and we’re very grateful to the talented content creators who make them. With the new 'ARK Sponsored Mods' program, we aim to be able to support some of the most promising authors directly, and continue to attract the world's most talented Modders to build amazing new content for ARK.

We believe our latest initiative will allow us to take the next step into assisting modders further. The Sponsored Mods project aims to provide financial, development, and marketing supporting over the course of sponsorship. We will be providing a $4,000 stipend towards 15 projects each month to assist with ongoing development costs of their projects, with a possibility of completed mods being integrated into the Official Release of ARK: Survival Evolved on PC and Console.

Our first batch of modders that have been selected for sponsorship can be viewed here:

Over the course of sponsorship, the modders will be working with us, and in particular, Cedric Burkes (Creator of Primitive+ and Studio Wildcard Mod Liason) to see how they progress over the month. They will go through reviews to make sure that bug reports players have made are being resolved, and that their projects are progressing and developing. Sponsorship can end for a mod if progress isn’t being made, and we are keeping our eyes open for other modders who we can potentially work with!

For those of you who are itching to get Modding in ARK, you can get started right away! The ARK Dev Kit is a simplified version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor, specifically compiled to streamline the process of creating Mods, Maps, and Total Conversions for ARK: Survival Evolved which can then be uploaded directly to Steam Workshop for other users to download and play. Follow the "How To Mod" tutorial to get started, then join the ARK community, participate in the Unreal Engine ARK Modding forum to get your modding underway!

So, I think we'll get the dynamic length bridges through the "Bridge-Mod"... :D I still hope we'll get Egg'n'Poop Collector and Incubator, Death Helper, Tavan's Trough, Medieval Tavern and Ark Fog Remover as well.

I would love to see more structures and things in the video above added to ps4 version, Castle, survival plus, more plants and foods looks good. A complete water world server, with many land caves to get supplies would be amazing, as well as a Ice world much like Scorched is a fiery hot land ice would be pretty sweet, and maybe all forest swamp with quicksand and killer plants.

Could you create a thread and post the GPS coords and/or screenshots for these areas when you do that?

i'll try to get the Coords but for the time being it is the main canyon on easy spawn, green obi, the desert plateau near metal mountain, canyon leading to blue obi and what we like to call the Crack Heads Teeth opposite side of the map to blue obi

Wish we could get the same type of integrated mod platform on the consoles, like Fallout4 and Skyrim SE have. It would be a direct link to the mods on a website, where modders can update both the PC and console mods whenever they want to, without the restrictions imposed by the current system, where we can browse, search and download + rate mods at our own pace.

But, i guess the game would have to be officially released, for something like that would be accepted by Microsoft.

This could take Ark to a whole new Level.

To a whole new level of glitches/bugs/rubberbanding/lag/crashes & bluescreens, yes.

We totally need a sponsored Mod-Program before we all get our main characters and died babys back... GJ WildCard! Love your customer support or how you care about your customers (we are no testers but customers yes)!

All i really want to know is if this is to encourage people to finish mods for PC, or if this mean that stuff will be added for consoles? if its only for PC then you are just going to make 2/3 of your platforms unhappy... while making PC that much more fun.

This is so exciting! I generally prefer vanilla content for the games I play, but mods that add visual variety, or interesting mechanics, are always welcome. I enjoy anything that allows for additional exploration or some visual mix-it-up.

Thank you for this. Mods should be treated so openly in more games.

Guys jat and crew are on this its the only direction for growth on all platforms and that was realised pretty soon after Xbox release first Microsoft then Sony then cross platforming so use of the mods would be simpler the PC base CAN carry the load and will allow access to non standard mods for consoles.lol they just have to break the console boundary that PCs already allow good on ya guys and don't back down you've got one strong community behind all your doing wild card even the critics still play lol
