    Get Ready for ARK: Fear Evolved 2, running from October 27 through Nov 6!

    This sequel to the ultimate Survival Holiday-Themed Event will test your skills and your courage as you hunt for the legendary DodoWyvern across Scorched Earth, collecting up new cosmetics and costumes along the way. Back on The Island, you'll get to tame Snakes, and encounter rare Vampire Bats & Rabid Dire Wolves -- being bit by these infected creatures will give you Vampirism or Lycanthropy! Though you will become a monster, you will also gain incredible powers, whether it's the superhuman sight, speed,  strength, and gliding of a Vampire, or the moon-triggered body-morphing ferocity of a Werewolf! Just beware the burning daylight (and stay stocked up on blood)! In Fear Evolved 2, sometimes the most dangerous creature on the ARK... is you!

    Patch 248

    We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the delay of the latest ARK Survival Evolved patch. Unfortunately, it’s going to take us a bit longer to get this out to you, this patch is filled with a tonne of content and new features and we’re needing to spend some more time on it -- the new v248 Release Date is October 18.

    A key feature of the patch our new Procedurally Generated ARK system. This will lead to endless opportunities for survivors to explore new lands and create new memories. We’re doing a lot of work to ensure that this first pass is really up to par to make sure you get a fulfilling experience and also creating a friendly user interface to make looking after your maps (multiple saves), and customizing & randomizing them much easier. Also, you’ll have the ability to share your maps very easily with others! Plus that’s not all we’ve got cooked up for this patch, there’s a tonne more to come and you can check out the rest of the upcoming notes here:

    So we apologize for the delay and hope you understand our reasoning for holding it back until it’s shiny, however once the patch does come out it’ll be better than ever and would have definitely been worth the wait!

    We’ve got a lot planned in October and for the months ahead, and can’t wait to share it all with you! Thanks for your ongoing support and feedback you provide, it is all valued and pivotal to making ARK as good as it can be!

    Well then, you shouldn't have any surprises.  I'm moving all quetzals to the volcano with my other prized dinos on their backs so no worries for them. However, my gigas are a different story.  If that thing wants them it will have to get through 2 mini guns and rocket turrets, plant x and 2 rows of behemoth gates  (one row is metal)

    Nice! My server is on primitive+ so no mini guns or rocket turrets and a lot of the people have only been there for less than a month so the defenses aren't that great.

    I hope you come out of this unscathed! I'll try and get pics if I can but don't know how to transfer from xbox to pc. I'm excited for it, but seeing is how pc didn't get the update yet, I'm wondering if it's actually going to happen

    I will do that tonight. My gt is the same as on here. I'll take picks of my base as well. Hopefully,  this thing doesn't spawn in my base. I'm right along the edge of footpaw, fingers crossed for no graveyard there.....

    Have not seen it posted, though I may have missed it,  will the snakes on Scorched Earth be tamable?  Will we be seeing vampire bats and rabid dire wolves on scorched earth as well?  If not is there a way for Admins to spawn them? I admin a Scorched Earth server and want to partake in all the Fear Evolved 2 fun.

    Se servers will have the event too. Idk if the whole vampire and werewolves thing is there but dodo wyvern will be. I feel sorry for you, Atleast dodorex can't fly.....

I know I am not alone in this. Why not make it a special boss arena, or some sort of quest that you need to go on through a cave or what not....so that those that want to take it on can. Just seems like a pretty cruel thing to do to in such a random spawning.......

    But it's not about what works... the game is called Ark:SURVIVAL EVOLVED.. if you don't like surviving then this game has run its course for you.. Nature is cruel and uncaring, gotta evolve/adapt or its the end of the line for you and your hard work. Pretty motivating if I do say so myself.

    If I get lycanthropy or vampirism will it just disappear after the event leaving me naked and disoriented in the bush wondering "what have I done?!?!"  Picking pieces of my friends from my teeth?  Feeling like I've made a new connection with the moon in the sky??

    Seriously,  if you want to survive giga attacks, metal dino gates it up. Or better yet,  metal behemoth gates. Will stop anything short of a titanosaur and there is no more need to worry.

    Devs are not saying anything on twitter, and anytime I hear " on pc, not sure about Xbox"  that usually means Xbox will not get the update for at least another 3 days.

    Can you tame the Dodorex? I skimmed the topic and didn't see it asked.

    I did a quick search and saw some people mentioning that, when it spawns, you can walk up and just claim it for roughly 15 minutes. Is that for this/another event, or is this Dodorex just there for us to kill?
