    ARK Official Launch Trailer!

For those of you who missed us this morning on the Twitch at Gamescom livestream, we just premiered the official launch trailer for ARK: Survival Evolved! Watch it below!

The past two years have been one heck of a journey for all of us. Millions of ARK players worldwide have built gigantic bases, captured and trained armies of dinosaurs, crafted armories full of weapons and eaten billions of pounds of berries. With your help, we are days away from releasing the full ARK: Survival Evolved game to the world!

Come August 29th we'll be entering the next phase of our journey and exit early access. Players who have been with us throughout this early access program and were excited with the launch of each update have even more reason to be excited post-launch! ARK will continue to grow with new content at launch and beyond as we continue to have a behemoth amount of additional gameplay, creatures, and story elements in the works. The adventure has truly only just begun!

With every Explorer Note you've discovered on the Island a piece of the story has come along with it. Every artifact, every apex drops, every boss battle, it has all been leading up to this moment. Now it's time to understand the bigger picture and begin to discover why every Survivor wakes up on the beach with a diamond shaped implant in their arm.

Are you ready for what's in store? Will you be strong enough to take on the challenges ahead? Do you, your tribe, and your army have what it takes to reach Ascension? Only time will tell...

The launch trailer also features the first in-game footage for the two newest critters to the Island, the playful Otter and the fiery Phoenix.

    large.Otter_1.png.d3823bbd869062cf6a08f5

This furry little Otter makes a cozy companion that can ride around on your shoulders and can help retrieve silica pearls for you!

    large.Dossier_Phoenix.jpg.51e9766404b47c

The flaming Phoenix bursts into fire with the heat of the desert. Operating at impossible temperatures, this legendary flyer can cook resources just by holding them. Perhaps it could even be ridden, if somehow one could acquire gear fireproof enough to withstand the flames blazing across its feathers.

Lastly, we get our first look at the Tek Shield and Tek Sword in action! The sword is capable of a dash-charge attack and has armor piercing capability, while the shield can reflect incoming projectiles and bullets, and can completely stop splash damage!

Man this game has EVOLVED! (pun intended) over these last 2 years and I'm quite curious as to what that odd sentry robot alien...thing was in the trailer but it was interesting to get a glimpse at how the Otter and Phoenix look in-game and i am really looking forward to getting them once they get added and i definitely cant wait to see what the upcoming DLC's will be

Certainly has evolved because it sure as hell wasn't intelligently designed. :D

I would kill an entire server to see a novel of Ark. I got so absorbed in to the story by the explorer notes.

Wonder who's found the secret hidden in the launch trailer hmm

My guess is the hologram pic of Earth, is the secret showing that Ascension is actually your trip back home. After being stranded all this time.

Just a guess but very possible right?

    Here's the secret: playark.com/a/

It was hidden behind a QR Code...

I don't understand why you all made the trailer seem like an FPS game, I am not a fan. Bummer.

Is it just me or is the Argy that is shown just after the Phoenix outrunning a Ptera and Tapejara? Also is that Tapejara keeping up with the Ptera?

Huh. Didn't notice that before. They could get in trouble for deceptive marketing if they fudged with the mechanics to make that video.

I just want to hop on here and thank everyone at Wildcard for an AMAZING game and experience. It sucks that there are so many negative people that probably do not realize how much work it takes to do the "small" things that people ask for. You guys are constantly being pulled in multiple different directions and still have come up with this beautiful game. As for the negative Nancy's in the room, if you have been here from the start, you would know or at least understand full well why WC has to wipe servers and keep the Legacy and New servers separate. Anyways, great job WC. This is by far the best game I have ever played!

What a great and well timed announcement just in time to distract new players from the thousands of players who are unhappy with your choice not to continue customer support for the players who have made your game the success it is now.

The Argent was sprinting whilst the Tapejara and Ptera weren't. Furthermore, the Ptera was weighed down for the sake of synergy with the Tape.

Phew. So light Wildcard deceit. They didn't modify the gameplay. They just made it appear like some animals were faster than others to anyone who hasn't played the game.

So no balance on the maps, just stealth nerf on the center. What a surprise

Game looks good, been playing for about a week now the xbox preview. Just waiting for new server on the 29th to start off from day one instead of 16k.

Not a bad trailer but I thought it could have been a lot better. Older trailers do a better job of showing off the game and making it look awesome.
Way too much color in this trailer.

I'd say the QR code hints to a different game mode/map of some kind. I'm guessing the way the Ark logo is lit/flashing in the countdown is some sort of hint as to what it might be but I can't for the life of me think what it could be.

I could of course be totally wrong I guess only time will tell.....

Nice try but the argents wings where flapping to fast for that. Any other excuses?

It's no lies. The Argent was sprinting in that scene. Believe what you wish but that's how the shot was made.
