  • Announcing ARK Park VR!

    large.5852db05b32f0_ARKParkKeyArtResize.jpg

We've partnered up with Snail Games to bring you a totally new ARK VR experience -- Snail’s Peacock Studio is developing, while Studio Wildcard is providing creative consultation. ARK stalwarts will have their skill and cunning in taming primeval creatures rewarded in this new game, as they can import their own collected dinosaurs from the original survival game into an up-close and personal, full VR experience!

Players begin their ARK Park adventure at a visitor center surrounded by life-sized holographic dinosaurs where they'll learn about these creatures that they’ve only read about & seen in books and summer blockbusters. From there, players will have the option to explore multiple interactive attractions on-foot or in vehicles & on Dino-back, including a swamp, forest, desert,  snowy mountain range, and more. Each attraction features stunningly rendered and realistic environments of the period inhabited by ARK creatures, which can be found and captured through use of items, weapons, and puzzle-solving.

ARK Park will be available on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation™VR in 2017. You can also sign-up for updates about ARK Park at www.arkparkvr.com!

Annnnnd... Another side project which won't help Wildcard finishing up the main game.

Also, I've seen so many VR games which all of them are the same. Stand in place and shoot at stuff. Point and teleport, and watch/explore some stuff. None of them were sophisitcated games. They showed the waste of potential VR technology has, without anything better VR may die like motion controllers in the past.

    Hey Studio WC

In the past you have been criticized for not making the dinos realistic enough. Your response as far as I can remember was that the creatures in ark are not dinos but fantasy creatures designd by Studio WC...
Are we gonna see some design changes on the creatures in this VR Game or will you just sell the fantasy creatures for dinos this time again and lie to the ppl that will look at your fantasy creatures and think they look like actual dinos?

If it's your type of game, look in to Yore VR... Medieval survival with eventual sandbox elements with Vive/Touch roomscale support, and various locomotion... Still pretty early access, but the potential is there...

Looks great, it's only a shame you had to work together (or give them the concept) with Snail Games. Such a terrible company, they should've been bankrupt a long time ago.

I was fine about dinosaurs being scientifically incorrect the whole time cause ARK is more of a fantazy game, yet now you are going to show your sphynx Rexes, Raptors as well as some never existed subspecies of Triceratops to children as an educational experience? Am I right? You really think its ok?

Question: Will all the content from ARK PARK be added to Ark Survival Evolved?

    -Dinosaur Sounds

    -Vehicles

-Character models for the character customisation

    -All new models(dinosaurs, holograms etc)

-The map in the trailer(looks amazing and so realistic)

Would love for the human models to look this good in normal ARK.

Also children models, since lots of kids play this game they could if wanted to have an avatar more like themselves.

They would prefer having a terminator-like avatar more than a child avatar :D

    Probably :)

But more options than what we have now wouldn't hurt...

Do you think they just gave away the premise for Ark. When we wake on the island or similar map is it just some sort of massive virtual reality theme park? Westworld type or just highly advanced VR thing like Total Recall?

Yes! Finally a reason to keep old dinos! Can't wait to just import them into the ark park!

@Jat For the youtube video, is that all concept art/animation or actual gameplay footage? It looks almost too good.

It is called in game industry a bullshot. WC created such one in SE trailer. The scene when wyvern climbed down the cliif to prevent you from taking an egg.

You should get these guys to design a map for you.  Those terrains looked epic.
