Waking up on ‘Aberration’, a derelict, malfunctioning ARK with an elaborate underground biome system, survivors face exotic new challenges unlike anything before: extreme radioactive sunlight and environmental hazards, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, cave dwellings, charge-batteries, and far more, along with a stable of extraordinary new creatures await within the mysterious depths. But beware the ‘Nameless’: unrelenting, Element-infused humanoids which have evolved into vicious light-hating monstrosities! On Aberration, survivors will uncover the ultimate secrets of the ARKs, and discover what the future holds in store for those strong and clever enough to survive!

    AN ARK GONE AWRY.png

Aberration places survivors on a damaged ARK: its internal atmosphere has leaked away, resulting in a harsh surface with intense radiation, and a plethora of lush biomes underground. With the maintenance systems of this ARK malfunctioning, the many hazards, creatures, and nature of the environment present a thrilling new world to explore and master.

    TAME NEW CREATURES.png

Discover 15 new creature types with amazing abilities! Clamber up walls & glide through the air on a self-camouflaging ’Rock Drake’, keep the dark at bay with one of four friendly ‘Lantern Pets’, or grab and toss multiple creatures simultaneously with a massive ‘Cave Crustacean’, or -- if you are brave enough - allow the horrific "Reaper Queen" to impregnate you, and spawn a vicious male Reaper alien lifeform you can tame and control.

    CRAFT 50+ UNIQUE ITEMS.png

With 30 new Engrams to speed your crafting, you'll now have access to cave-climbing picks, gliding wingsuits, and ziplines to traverse this new ARK. Dominate the harsh environment and protect yourself with hazmat outfits, charge lanterns, flashbangs, batteries, glowsticks, railguns and much more. Thrive by gathering new resources, using fishing baskets, and gas collectors.

    CONQUER NEW CHALLENGES.png

With the maintenance systems of this new ARK malfunctioning, earthquakes, radiation exposure, gas leaks, and Element chambers are among the many hazards that survivors will learn to grapple with Aberration’s five new major biomes, both aboveground and below the surface.

    AN INTRIGUING STORYLINE.png

Gear-up to take on the terrifying threat lurking within the deepest depths of Aberration as you uncover the ultimate secrets of the ARKs, and learn more about the future of Ark itself!

    Q&A

    Where is Nvidia Framegen?

We're currently in the process of making some implementation changes to Nvidia FG as tweaks were necessary after intregrating AMD Frame Interpolation. We opted for the AMD FI implementation with this release as it is supported on all hardware, including consoles. We're looking to restore Nvidia Frame Gen ASAP

Where is AMD FSR 3.1 Upscaler?

In AMD FSR 3.1, AMD decoupled the Upscaler from the Frame Interpolation, this allowed us to implement the Frame Interpolation while we work on FSR. Technically you could enable it with some console commands, but there are some visual issues we need to resolve which is why we haven't completely enabled it in the game.

I play on Xbox Series X. Aberration was my favorite map in SE. In Ascended, it's garbage. Extremely cluttered, dinos spawning and walking into rocks and trees, never to be seen again. Lighting is horrible, nowhere near how it was in SE. My Series X has handled all of my games lag-free. Guess what game/map officially changed that? Overall, it just doesn't look or run.... nice. If I had paid extra for Aberration, I'd demand my money back. Never buying Bob's either.

Look, I can get past the lighting glitch. I can deal with the constant flashing on my screen. I can find a way to live with whatever other bugs and glitches are present. I CANNOT deal with the game crashing every few minutes. I cant even launch the game in single player most of the time and its been like that for months. Im fine with finding a multiplayer server to play on, Ive accepted it as part of life,  but since friday the game has consistently crashed like every five minutes on every map I log into. Please tell me, how Im supposed to accomplish literally anything when I cant leave my base without a game crash causing me to die and most likely lose all my gear? Then please explain to me why I should be happy to have paid for this? If you want people to throw their money at the game, you have to give them something in return worth paying for. I love this game, I love ASE and ASA. I do not love my xbox dashboard which is where Ive spent the majority of time since aberration launched. Please for the love of god, just find what is causing it to crash so consistently and fix it. Everything else is a secondary issue for me as long as I can play the game.

What happened to the +2, the creators said was gonna be active for 2 weeks. All I’ve seen are normal evo rates which had better not disappear. not cool telling us about extra rates then not offering them until weekends. And why can I not transfer anything to the island.

I LOVE THE NEW ABERRATION!!!! To say that it doesn’t look gorgeous is a shameful insult. The place looks so beautiful, so much fuller and feels like a real environment with all the plant matter!!! I genuinely love lighting!!! It looks like what Ab should’ve looked like, a bioluminescent biosphere!!! It isn’t as dark as before which I don’t mind at all but it still gives that alien look as you get deeper and can get pretty dark the further you go. The only thing I don’t get is why the Pyromane is in the Blue Zone. Now can it fit on Ab, yes but not there!!! If anywhere the Red Zone is the perfect place for the Pyromane. It’s a radiation zone and a good barrier for mid range players. But Blue is so not the place. But other than this one thing, the map is a 10/10 in my opinion!!! AWESOMENESS!!!

Rubber banding has plagued this game since it came out in 2015. Dont think its going to change any time soon.

I can put up with the usual rubber banding (just), but since abberation launched the framing issue and the rubber banding on that map appears to be a lot worse than on Island or SE.

I'm guessing the idea for the change is to push players even more to the danger zones for resource harvesting instead of camping out in the starting Green Zone....and that ''lovely'' Pyromane waiting for you in the blue Zone.  There are still some decent metal nodes in the Green Zone, but you really have to look for them and explore. For PvE, I don't mind these changes.

But, I was hoping for a lot more changes for this map and visual improvements. On PS5 at least, it looks like crap....worse than ASE overall. Super blurry textures, insane popping, hitching, texture glitches and the lighting is all over the place. No idea why they even thought the light shafts moving and changing overtime at jarring speed was a good idea.

Perhaps they really expected FSR and 5.4 to carry the map...then again, maybe I'm being generous to WC. I really expected much better things since SE looked so much better in ASA. Alas, it's all gone down hill with both The Centre and AB...such a shame

Do you think they'll ever add the ascended creatures to evolved and, if not, maybe someone could make a mod for them on ase?

My PC can run ase on mostly epic with a couple high graphics but I don't think It's good enough to run asa well.

Aberration could not handle one day of game play on the xobx x. It has booted me and the game crashes when I try to log back into AB. I will try to post yet another report, but wanted to leave this hear in case anyone is wondering if it's playable yet. I only even had 11 total dinos tamed. Only 2 not specifically for egg/kibble purpose, and only a tiny bit built with like 98% base game structures ( 7 Klinger rustic crop plots). Aberration should not be considered "released" if a majority of the consumers cannot access the product.
